OVERVIEW
SECoPA was established in 1978 to facilitate the promotion of public administration research, scholarship, and professionalism throughout the Southeastern United States. Prior to its formation, southeastern-based chapters of the American Society for Public Administration organized annual regional conferences.
THEME
“Government Integrators: Presilience Solutions for Sustainable Development and Regional Stability” is SECoPA’s 2025 theme to be held in Coral Springs, Florida. This marks the 13th year after SECoPA was held in this very same location in 2012. At that time, the theme was “Promoting a Positive Transition for the Public Service: Hope for the Future.”
In keeping with that line of thought, next year’s SECoPA promotes a whole-of-sector approach to promote sustainable development and regional stability. Cities and regions are complex and multifaceted by their very nature. Realizing a vision for their future is no different. As government, industry, academia, and the military reinforce partner capacity and capability, they aim to deliver extraordinary end-to-end solutions, a curated ecosystem of strategic collaborators, and unparalleled access to leading edge public and private research and technology.
Co-operation in times of crises should be recognized as important and viewed as a relevant means to ideological bridge building that strengthens cohesion and confidence so that a more effective and integrated approach to community presilience can be developed. To this end, local authorities and scholars, including the warfighter, are becoming the force multipliers for addressing regional challenges.
