The Southeastern Conference on Public Administration (SECoPA) is a leading regional network dedicated to strengthening public administration across the southeastern United States. It convenes scholars, practitioners, nonprofit leaders, and students to exchange ideas, advance research, and foster collaboration that connects policy with practice.

Through its annual conference and year-round engagement, SECoPA promotes evidence-based decision-making, ethical leadership, and innovative approaches to complex public challenges such as economic development, resilience, infrastructure, equity, and community well-being. The organization also provides a forum for examining emerging issues, including digital transformation, cross-sector collaboration, and the evolving role of public leadership.

By linking academic insight with real-world application, SECoPA equips current and future leaders with the knowledge, skills, and partnerships needed to navigate a rapidly changing policy environment and deliver effective, accountable public service.

Established in 1978, SECoPA grew out of the Southeast Regional Conference, where the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA) chapters in the region gathered to collaborate and share best practices. Today, it remains an affiliated organization of ASPA, continuing its mission to advance the field and support a vibrant community of public service professionals.
